Having courtesy while Taiko-ing
Being able to Taiko in the arcade is a fun thing, but being courteous not only make it better, but also put a smile on the faces of the people around you. Here, I'll have some tips on how to be courteous while Taiko-ing or waiting for your turn to Taiko. NOTE*: There may be some points where you will disagree, but nevertheless, I feel that it's courteous (:
1. While waiting, NEVER tap your card just when the person is playing halfway in his game.
2. If really needed, ask the person when he is choosing song before you tap.
3. While playing, DO NOT scold vulgarities when you miss a note. Walao is acceptable.
4. Please ask the people around you whether they wanna play before you tap your card.
5. Do NOT be selfish and tap 20 times when you finally get the machine
6. Always ASK before tapping.
7. Don't be a hogger
8. Giving chances to others to play is a virtue. If you've played for the whole day already, give some chance to people!
Ok. Give your suggestions on more courteous rules!

Added: If you do those above once a week, that's acceptable. But if you do that every single day.

Re: Having courtesy while Taiko-ing
Not sure if this is considered a courtesy, but if I see that there are people who are playing for the first time, I'll offer a bit of help if they seem to need it (e.g. "You should be hitting the side for the blue note.")

That's nice of you Chinkai.
How exactly does the "tapping" rule work for you guys? I've heard a lot about it.

In the arcades where Taiko 11 is available, they are card-operated, hence the "tapping" of cards.
Regarding the situation, In computing terms, it's FIFO, hehehe! A taps, then while A is playing, B taps, C taps and so on...

Haha.... FIFO. I gotcha, but by "taps" do you mean people just swipe their cards while others are playing?

That would appear to be the case at JP. Where I frequent this doesn't happen...at least not when I'm around.

i often do this also to people i see who dunno how to play the game.. sometimes, when people cut their queue, i'll help them tap while the cut-queuer is playing haha

the ardcade that we frequent for taiko is using the tap system. not swipe.
but its the same i guess
yea people will sneak up and silently tap
and then u will hear the sound from the machine that tells u that a credit has been inserted
yes i mean sneak up and tap!

Re: Having courtesy while Taiko-ing
It is VERY irritating, and it might be dangerous, especially if you're like totally concentrated on the FC and then suddenly that sound comes out.
I depend heavily on listening to the music to catch the beat, so it's very bad for me when someone does that...or whacks the neighbouring game machines like it offended them...or scream at the top of their lungs (referring to the foosball machine behind).

Re: Having courtesy while Taiko-ing
while I completely support rule #1(While waiting, NEVER tap your card just when the person is playing halfway in his game) because I've been screwed by it before, there are some situations whereby you have to forego the very ethics you adhere to. for example, what if someone who arrives like, 5 seconds later than you just heckcare about that rule and just taps during the middle of the song another person is playing? while once or twice is perfectly tolerable, but I've been cut-ted too many times that it's becoming more and more irritating.

@1: That's what i do when they crowd up and have an attempt to cut my queue, yes and that's what you do, so people come nonstop cut your queue and your gonna rant about not being able to play taiko for 1hr again.(agree with gepi on this. jp taiko you dont tap first, you dont get to play.)
@2: Agree. But you dont even tap. So how do you do this. xD (refer to point 1)
@3: Walao is acceptable because you keep using it. =x
@4: I do that. But if i come first i'll go first, but i think you'll probably keep letting ppl play until they use nonstop and you rest 1hr before everyone's gone.
@5: Tht's part of gepi's plan against the jp da xiao jie. (its sometimes inavoidable)
@6: a repeat of point 4
@7: a repeat of point 5
@8: in the end, if you dont let anyone else play, you'll tire out faster. what's the point -.-"

Re: Having courtesy while Taiko-ing
Haha next time you guys find the volume too soft, you can just ask the staff to turn up the volume ders. And that goes for Jubeat as well. Cuz sometimes when we service the machines, we accidentally turn down the volume. xD
