Itasha-PSP = A PSP printed with an Anime character. (Similar to a car)

Being an Anime freak after all, I suddenly find the urge to make my Itasha-PSP. I have never seen one in Singapore before, and I want to make one out of a sudden. For my nature, when I want to do something, I mean it.

(Seen as one in, people make their own. Not those pre-printed type like the Final Fantasy VII limited edition PSP)

Now, I'll post the pictures I designed (or collated) up. Now I have a total of 5 design, but I'll only post one. I still want to keep the rest as a secret.

Itasha-PSP Solatest

Now here comes the part, I want to get this design onto my PSP, but I have no idea how. Things I have thought of would be:

Print on a plastic sheet, and iron the sheet over the PSP.
Airbrush it down. (I can't do this by myself, so out of the question)
Garskin/Sticker type (That defeats the purpose of an Itasha, so I'll totally reject this being a hardcore fan)
Car decals type (good idea, but where can it? how do I make it, and are people actually willing to do it?)

So, I seriously need help. Anyone knows how to do it, or know anyone who can do it? Or any shops that offers these kind of services? Even if you give me little ideas, I'll be happy enough.

http://www.garskin.com.sg/news/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

There's this garskin store link where there's different types of psp skins available, you may wanna drop them a line to ask if they do custom stuffs. =)

Thanks for the idea, but I don't really fancy stickers or garskins. They defeat the purpose of having an Itasha.

Itashas are usually done by using something permanent, like airbrushing, painting, print pressing etc etc.

(My laptop skin = garskin (pre-ordered from the same website)

I know my expectations are very high. Sorry about that.

Ah thanks, I'll do that as a form of last resort. I know a few of these as well, recommended to me by my uncle who owns a car and have visited the places for repairs and etc.

For car decals wise, the reason why I want to leave it at the end because it it NOT cheap.

Now focusing on plastic printing or press printing (like printing shirt all these).

Heading to Sim Lim Square later to ask around and get tips from experts. I heard from my friend a shop called Gamer's Hub there @ level 5 do have some sort of decals for PSP.

Also, the http://www.cartooniseme.com/ is out of the question. They do cartonnish stuffs.

Yuu, you got the website for that Kelvin's company? Or any e-mail address? Or any idea where they are located at?

Keep the decals coming for the time being, as I want something of quality.

Everything is semi-done. This is just a trail and run process. I'll get my new cover somewhere this week and I'll paste this decal type thing in.

Their just for testing purposes to make sure it can work and etc etc.

And sad thing, I lost my battery cover, so all the more I need a new cover. If you notice the battery section (left), there's like a hole and it's lower.

Screenshots taken from my sis lousy camera (I still need DSLR).

Overall view and an extra DJMax Trilogy I just got yesterday.

Closed up view of PSP

Closed up view of other designs I made

If anyone wants the design or something, just tell me. I don't mind sending it to you.

Finally, after nearly 2 weeks, I got this done!

Any comments?

Decals, done by laser printing. Managed to find a shop that provides decal printing and plastic printing. (That shop makes banners etc etc, and decals as well, up to A0)

Plastic wise, out of the question for now, cause they'll all melt before I do anything to them. The person told me there is a way, but you'll need complex equipments that you'll hardly find except for in big manufacturing companies. And if you were to do it yourself, chances are low, so I'll rather not.

But well, since I already know the way to make one. I'll restrict myself. It wouldn't be unique if you see everyone having an itasha-PSP. I'll limit to making one every month for friends/family. Although I'll be making 5 (including myself) for a start.

I'll need to get a thin plastic layer as well, which I'll be heading back to the shop to get one, to protect my picture from being scratched/damaged. I'll get some "gloss" from the plastic as well so that it'll shine and look nice.

No thanks, that's one thing I don't want to promote to everyone. Keeping it unique from others for the win.

I do this for my passion to Anime, as a hardcore otaku as well as to polish up on my Photoshop skills. More or less, it's a hobby and for fun, not for business wise. I just made another Miko mini decal meant for the front cover as a small decoration.

Getting my new PSP casing (housing) tomorrow ^^.
