Rolling pins cost only $2 each in Daiso.
So rolling pins are cheaper. Unless you sand the rolling pin edges, the taiko drum skin will be damaged.

Re: Bachis :silent:
Please, no rolling pins. Unless you file or sand them down until round like some of us did.
Otherwise we will end up with another lobang *somewhere* in the drum like Iluma's.

You don't want cheap cheap bachis?
Those expensive CO bachi, too heavy for me sia..
I have a rosewood one, which is heavy for me, cost around $20 or so.
Another more epic and heavier one is the blackwood bachi, bought in Beijing by my conductor's wife, cost price around Renminbi $300 or something??
This pair of blackwood bachi really damn heavy.
So far, the bachis i'm using are all gifts/sponsors for me. Lolz~
So yeah, not cheap bachi now. xD

Wow, it's been 3 years.
Here's the site for the CO drumsticks in bugis area, near iluma (to be called bugis+ in the future):
http://www.eason.com.sg/products/products_drumsticks.jsp
((I didn't know it has a site until 3yrs later))
Most of my numerous sponsored pairs of bachi and the two pair I've bought are 六道木鼓棒.
As the webbie says:
Indeed. It's really really resilient and comfy compared to self-made bachi as far as I know.
Although I have used lots of different pairs & types of bachi for CO + taiko, nothing comes close to the two pairs 六道木鼓棒 I've bought and choose carefully.

As the webbie says:
These sticks are hand made from a type of small plant called Abelia biflora. Each stick is painstakingly fashioned from the stem of the plant. These sticks are especially resilient and they feel very comfortable in your hands.

That's what I always tell others. So, time to choose your bachi well~ ^-^Choosing bachi is like choosing your good spouse.
Choose it well because you can only play well when it feels like part of yourself.
