Okay this is the last straw. Lets not quarrel further and heat things up. And yeah "standard" is NOT in my Taiko dictionary too apart from "pro", "noob", "average" or maybe "imba".

@cats: stop saying that you have no standard and everything is a waste of money already. Even if you think you can't play with us, just come up and talk to all of us instead of just secluding yourself in one corner and wait for your turn at the Taiko machine at the arcade. Like I said, others may think that you might be anti-social if you choose to sit away from the dojo members. Its not like you don't know us at all.

And yeah, coming to think of it, it won't be long before Taiko Dojo marks 1 year since its launch last year October (correct me if I'm wrong). We've certainly gone a long way now from a few batch of pioneer members to a whole new community. 1 year ago, everyone of us here were complete strangers until Taiko no Tatsujin 11 arrives here in Singapore and thus, a club is formed and the forum is born. From there, thats when I also learned that Taiko game is not only a fun game, but it brings people together too ^^

Having said that, how about a big outing on the day Taiko Dojo turns 1? DanceDance a

I've never been the kind who think highly of myself.

Mentioning words in small font only shows that u WANT to say it, but are too cowardly to express ur thoughts.
Did i ever deny that?
And yes I agree that MY thinking will be different from others.

And theres still a chance that when I wave, they're playing. When they're not, I'm playing.

Cut. its the end of everything fine?

I found out that the first TKDJ member (The admin, and some others) joined on 02/10/2008. So the dojo was created on this date?

Can't be a coincidence right? I hope not... and hopefully not...

I'm not sure why it's stated 02/10/2008 but it should be:
Board started : Fri 3 Oct 2008 - 3:11am as in my database.

But then, the date the board started and the date it went officially online for people to post is different.
According to what i've keep track:
Taiko Dojo officially PUBLIC on 11th Oct 2008 (before that, we're in BETA testing phrase)
Taiko Dojo's DOMAIN [http://www.taikodojo.net] on 25th Oct 2008

HareHareYukai wrote:
Anyway, its close to 10 months since the forum first started for BETA testing.
And out of the (I think,) 8-10 pioneer members, only about 5 of us are still here. Maybe we should get together for a mini-celebration of sorts? I mean after all its 1 year, and even if its not for the development of taikodojo, at least we did meet part of our overall aims for this forum yeah?
Btw I don’t know where kos has gone to, but since yuu has mentioned sometime ago I guess you’re still in contact with him ba? And ume gone le also, probly lost interest.
Btw I saw SL72 or sky(was it that we called him last time cuz of his ign or something)? On Sunday at iluma. Long time no see. I remember shia too.
Well can also say chinkai has been a long-time friend too since its been so long!

P.S Makio, I back your statement for the third time too. It’s true that taiko brings people together, and I think taikodojo has at least met this aim, but has somehow strayed off track in the process of doing so.

From a 8-9man community it has developed and we have met so many more people in the process, so many more friends and fun! ^^ and has made the whole gaming experience a more fulfilling one! The taiko experience used to be like that.. but no more now.

Somehow the new community does not agree maybe? Oh well.

The very first member other than me to join is Yue. After that it's CK.
For those whom taiko, and we know them/seen them they are:
rainyrhy first, followed by gepi, then blyx & your di.

Mint knows of this place but she doesn't register yet till much later when she fc one of the chinese song (am i right mint?).

I've personally invited some others to join too when i send PMs to them, like pyrozz etc.

Blyx, remember that the few of us, we used to hang out and taiko and feel so happy?? Yue, CK & Mint, gepi and the two of us. That's not even 8 members in Real Life to begin with.
In forum, there are pyrozz, who contributed to the fabulous hand-drawn icons, smiley, etc. Boy was he so enthusiastic about our forum. Discussing this and that and those were the time when taikodojo started out, changing this and that throughout and hope that users will find it good to use. =D
Besides Pyrozz, the few of us. Even gepi has started to post too, which he's always so introvert. So i'm actually quite happy that at least taikodojo bring and form bonds within the few of us. (Yes, gepi, at first you don't post much but you started to post back then, you have no idea how happy i am as a owner here.) ^-^

I miss those days the bondings found when there are just a few of us here.
However, after certain people who started talking and bothering about the Hana song, the annihilation of our dojo, things changed. Those pioneers and the ones involved should know who i'm talking about. Yeah, from a family of few members, now it's become separated into different cliques. Thinking of that and reminiscing the past, it really makes me feel sad.. A family broken. This is how i feel to be honest.

With Yue gone, i felt sad. I hardly taiko then since yue's my taiko buddy. Then somehow, ruby comes into my life, not replacing yue but adding as another great friend and taiko buddy. Thanks ruby. =D

Besides ruby and yue, i really enjoy taiko with gepi as well. He's of my level and we cleared the last few 9* back then, remember gepi?? Haha, those were the days..
I wasn't comfortable taiko-ing with you blyx to say the truth. Cos' everytime i taiko with you, my right wrist and fingers can't take the strain. Back then still failing the some 7* oni, and you're already 9* oni. The songs you choose, always end up not able to see those notes plus my wrist & fingers hurts after playing with you and it does take days-weeks to recover. I tell myself that when i improve and pass all the songs in taiko, i'll play and doubles with you for whatever songs you choose so my wrist & fingers won't be painful for the rest of the 2weeks. But i guess can't cos' i still not able to pass that last 2 songs in the series. It doesn't matter anymore, next time if you're around, help me pass those last 2 songs, can? =D

(Somehow it reminds me of the time you pass kita. Everyone's happy for ya. haha~)

Rubyrain wrote:a gathering is a wonderful idea. i'm just worried that the many different "cliques" present in the forum will make it not-so-enjoyable, not to mention that its really really hard to get so many ppl free at such short notice.

Precisely. I just hope the few of us is enough for the mini-celebration. Bigger group, more problems cos' of cliques.
I'm planning to get a birthday cake for taikodojo, but it's like no discount anymore.. hmm..

I get it. 3/10/08 was the creation date but probably the timing was PST. So being the 3rd in Singapore means it's still the 2nd in where ever the main forumotion.net is located. (Time difference, probably 3:11am here is like the previous evening over there)

So, would you count TKDJ's 1st year as on the date of creation, date of releasing to the public or date where you got the domain?

I don't mind sharing my own cake with TKDJ. Seriously. I'll probably get a lonely "go around and stuff my stomach up with good food" session.

Haha, i have no idea. xD
We only have the name after yue and me discuss it. Initially was some other names but later we decided that taikodojo sound great, so i use that name from then. =P

@Gias,
As for the date, i'll like it to be the date when it first started. When it's born. haha~
Actually according to my stats:
Board started Fri 3 Oct 2008 - 3:11
Board up days 300

Then I've checked the members from the database and the first user Admin's joined date is also 3th Oct 2008. But when i check directly in the forum itself, it's stated 2nd Oct 2008 instead. Hmm, but then the board is born but not out to the public yet nor did it have its own domain.. Does anyone celebrate it's launch of product or the product's creation date? Or both maybe? haha~

I don't mind having three dates though, something like our lunar birthday and normal birthday for chinese. xD

Your bolded sentence is EPIC.
Yeah, some people are just so fake, in front of you pretend to be okay but at your back, stab you. Well, don't talk about the stupid zone x. They switch off the machine just like that WITHOUT warning people for last game.
zzzz, now the new staffs there in amk also don't know what they are doing lor. They can't be even bothered like you to stand behind me to ensure it's last game, they just switch off like that. sianz.

Actually which date you prefer? I like the three dates for our dear tkdj though. keke~
Buy those small small cake and put one candle can liaoz. wahahahaha~
Arcadia said they have dunno what birthday packages and they do parties too sia.. Which i bet it's gonna cost a bomb??

The day TKDJ had its own domain name (aka the offical launch)... would be the best. (:

Anyway, it is still October, thus it is alright to celebrate earlier within October.

maybe its because you are all good friends.. but i feel that the reason most of the new members joined taiko dojo is because they want to know more about taiko and be able to share their thoughts and experiences as well as to learn from others. Its just difficult to argue that the taiko forum should have more topics about other things if not people would have just joined other forums. The way i see it its just a matter of cliques who tend to discuss on a certain topic too often that other people are not too interested in. Though i agree that it is also a platform for taiko players to get to know each other better, you cant expect us to have very interesting discussions about each other..

Just my 2 cents worth

True True, but it's a bad mentality and social manners to only participate in what they deem "interesting discussions" only,
beside discussion can be pretty random, see where this threads go? From some randomness to trying to make cat think +ve
to tkdj birthday, who knows the next topic could be the "interesting discussions"
(Ps: If everyone act this way, i doubt the world can survive through one day )

We're not saying that the forum should have more topics about other things, adri. Every forum's bound to have some section(s) that is not related to the theme of that forum and i'm trying my best to have a forum that everyone can participate in some of the other things rather than just taiko this + taiko that + taiko right and more taiko left.

As one of us said, this is a forum that was created because of the game, but it wasn't created solely FOR the game. None of us start off as good friends, until we join this forum and get to know each other better. This is what i wanna achieve, at least to make everyone feel there is a bond with one another. Friendship, "family", "buddies", whichever you want to describe.

So far, i don't see any one sharing their experiences or to learn from others? Mostly in their eyes, they only bother to just compare who is a better player than another and some may even hold jealousy within them as well from what i observed.
So what do you suggest to make this a better place, adri?
Just purely talking about taiko stuffs in every single section and thread?

I do need suggestions or 2cents from the rest as well. What you guys think?
What type of forum you guys want? A place where you feel at home? Or a place which is just hi-playtaiko-bye place without any friendship bonding? kat=3

Taikodojo =/= Everything must be taiko, must play taiko, must know taiko, must eat taiko etc etc
Like what Yuu said, this forum was created because of the game, but it's main purpose is to bond people
who have similar interest with each other, for this instance "Taiko No Tatsujin".
And the forum didn't state that you only can talk about taiko, nothing else.
However, the behavior pattern of most members here state otherwise.
What went wrong? Maybe the social barrier that prevent us from sharing personal information?
Or maybe some people just don't want to get along?
Like Yuu had mention, she want everyone in the dojo to feel there is a bond with other member,
whether it's friends, family, buddies, and not I am superior or I am jealous type of bonds.
I believe the forum is name TaikoDojo is because it's a place where we learn and share,
but people are comparing scores(okay sometime when u get elated) and getting jealous of other people performance.
Why jealous? Why not use that zeal to improve yourselves?
And when you did improve, chat around the forum, commenting on how you improve, some songs that you failed,
then listen to some advice or make some joke. Which i believe it's possible for anyone to do it.
Friendship bonds will not be form unless you make an effort to do so,
how do you expect people to be friends with you when you are not making effort to be friends?
Maybe we are good friends from the start, maybe we are rivals, or maybe we are archenemy,
this forum is here to help settle stuff and maybe foster a friendship for a lifetime....

None of us start off as good friends, until we join this forum and get to know each other better. This is what i wanna achieve, at least to make everyone feel there is a bond with one another. Friendship, "family", "buddies", whichever you want to describe.

Yeah, friendship for a lifetime. Some form of buddies bond which i'm looking for and it's something like "i'm there for you, you're there for me" kind that can sprout from this tkdj. =D
